Filter I bought this Hoover a few years ago- just now about to use it first time. I cannot find my user's manual and don't know how to change the filter- or to clean it or whatever I am supposed to do with it. Also, there is a handle on one side of the unit that seems to be attached to an empty chamber or canister kind of thing.
It looks like it should pull out, but it does not budge. I really would like to have a manual, but can't seem to find one. Is there a similar model that is still This is not for the exact same model, but should help you out: 015 012http://edge.maytag.com/epipubs/56511B47.PDF. Elna Top 300 sewing machine. I need manual to operate this machine. I have already found out that Elna contracted with Tiwan(excuse my spelling) to make there machine between 1989-1991.
I want to know which machine made in Switzerland is comperable to this one. Thanks.Audrey Sorry about the catagory.but you do not have sewing machine on list. Sewing machine Guru needed;) Elna Grasshopper (new to me) circa 1950 The light works, but there was no hummm when knee pedal engaged. I have the motor out, and it is very stiff to turn. I'm at a total loss when it comes to motors and electricity.
It doesn't smell burned, doesn't smell at all beyond normal machine smells. (Yes, I made detailed notes and diagrams as I took said motor out!) One other note.
The long thing which my husband said might be a capacitor - it looks like I just purchased a fairly tidy Elna 'Grasshopper' sewing machine (1951) with the same leaking capacitor problem. I carefully removed the capacitor for examination. It is actually three capacitors in one - no chance of a direct modern replacement, but. I need to replace the cord on an older Hoover upright, model S660, about 1986 vintage. The cord broke where it enters handle.
Handle comes apart easily. Just not sure how to pop the switch out without breaking it. Was looking for a manual online to see parts diagram and/or instruction on disassembly and cant seem to find one for that old of vacuum. Those vacuums are worth fixing.
I loved them. They would. the carpet off of the floor! Those cords aren't hard to replace.just remember the way you got the old one out. I have a Electrolux, EL6988 Canister Vacum, howeveer the brushes and motor will not run when turned on. I have take the plates and cleaned around the brushes, but it will not come one.
The vacum comes on but the motorized bushes do not activate. Thanks I have lost my owners manual, and have looked for the reset button and can't find or know where it is located. Any suggestions. I need the molded wire harness inside the plastic wand ( one of the prongs is broke off) What is the part # or where can I buy it?
Model EL6988.

Recently I was asked how to thread the Elna Contessa 400. As I result I created some diagrams, which I thought might be of use to others so I will share them here. Threading - overview Close-up of needle threading In the top threading images above, the red arrows point to the thread guides and the black line shows the approximate path of the thread. Click on the images to see them and the instructions larger. How to wind a bobbin The path of the thread for bobbin winding is show in blue. There was actually no bobbin winder on this machine when the image was taken, consequently the grey block that I added is where it should be.
The bobbin case of this machine threads as they do on most machines, hold the bobbin case in your left hand, with the open end facing to the right. Hold the bobbin in your right hand with the end of the thread going away from you. Put the bobbin in the bobbin case and pull the thread through the slot in the bobbin case and under the tension spring. That's the bobbin case threaded.
As usual, if you have any questions, drop me a line and I will do my best to answer them! Hi, I am not acquainted with an Elna 460, I had a quick google and they looked rather new, so my information may not be accurate.
Generally speaking, if you can access the bottom of the machine, you should lightly oil most things that move against another surface, paying particular attention to the rotation of the bobbin and motion of the feed. Also on the side of the machine, any points that rotate about a pin or slide on something should be lightly oiled, and the same for under the top cover as well, if you can access that. If the machine has electronics, oiling near them could be a problem, if it has plastic gears, only grease them if it looks like they have previously been greased.
Metal gears should be greased. I hope that helps a little. I'm an Australian lady who loves sewing machines, sewing and photography. Many of the sewing machines shown, discussed and used on these pages are from my collection, which is now over 30 machines strong!
